Intersect Arts KC
Intersect Arts is more than just a place to take art classes—it’s a movement to create a connected and thriving community in the heart of the Historic Northeast of Kansas City, Missouri. Launched by a collective of passionate local artists, Intersect Arts offers affordable classes designed to bring neighbors together through creativity and shared experiences.
We believe that art has the power to transform both individuals and communities. That’s why we’ve created a range of classes that are accessible to everyone. With offerings in martial arts, painting, theatre arts, and culinary arts, Intersect Arts welcomes artists of all ages and skill levels. To ensure that financial barriers don’t stand in the way of anyone’s creative journey, we offer scholarships alongside our low-cost fees for those who can afford to pay. Donations help ensure that people are able to utilize these classes and events without having to pay to attend them.

The Micah Ministry
An urban, ecumenical outreach mission of Independence Boulevard Christian Church to the unhoused and food insecure people in the historic Northeast area of Kansas City, Missouri. The Micah Ministry began in 2001 as a mission designed to encourage Christian unity, end racism and “feed my sheep.” (John 21:15-17) It is centered around a ministry of home-cooked meals in which faith-based and civic volunteers partner and seek to help our food vulnerable neighbors. From 5:30p-7:00p every Monday, Micah offers a hot “to-go” meal, hygiene products, clothing, additional food items, a free medical clinic from Care Beyond the Boulevard, and items to support our house-less neighbors such as blankets, sleeping bags, tents, etc. We are currently serving 1000-1200 meals, a few hundred rolls of toilet paper, and 250-300 clothing/outdoor survival items each Monday evening. We partner with several organizations such as Jobs KC, Harvesters/Snaps Program, MCC, etc. Your financial contributions allow us to continue this service for our houseless and food insecure neighbors.
